Where is the place game save my characters?

I'm a steam user but I want to carry my saved games on my own. (I'm not sure if steam saves my games in cloud, though)
Cases like playing the game offline, it will help. (Carrying on my own)
So I want to know where can I find my saved games. I searched it for a while but couldn't find it in the tales of majeyal folder(in Steam games folder).
Should I carry the whole game folder? (That's all right if it is confirmed to be true)
PS : I've heard someone saying 'saving mechanism between steam version and normal version is different'. Is that right...?
