ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Well, sorta. I was playing around with the Derth merchant's randart generator, and I accidentally hit "escape" to go back a screen. (Stupid, I know). For some reason, the merchant thought "escape" meant "I'd like to buy that elven-silk wizard hat for my Wyrmic, please!"

I still had enough left over for a randart pair of gloves, which I dubbed "Merchantcrusher" out of spite. But I don't suppose there's any way I could get my money back? Or at least make the escape key do something more reasonable?

("The merchant carefully hands you Merchantcrusher." Carefully, indeed!)

Activate Dev Mode and give yourself an extra 4000g. Other than that, you just screwed up and have to pay the price. *Gives Lyoncet a sympathetic pat on the back*

You should be able to duel it out with the merchant. I don't understand why this is not an option in TOME. Killing him the assassin lord's cave is not the same thing because he doesn't give useless randarts there.

I like both of these suggestions.
