ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I'm not sure. I have the addon and if I create a character online I can play it safely offline. But, when I'm offline trying to create a character, I can't. But if I go into addons and look ashes is enabled. Anybody know?

You should be able to make it offline. I've successfully made a Doombringer without being online. Maybe just give it another try? ALternatively, try uninstalling and reinstalling any addons you have, mostly Stone Wardens, Item Vault, and Ashes.

Well, I've tried reinstalling it and it's still not working. Ive tried taking all the other addons out and just loading it but nothing. Oddly enough however, the backdrop and loading screens are all the ashes loading screens and the add-on says it's manually active but I can't get characters to be created offline.

I would expect the addon requires internet validation to run, like Stone Warden does.

I have internet connection problems and generally play offline.
Concerning Ashes, my expérience is that
- you cannot start a new game with the addon when offline
- if you start a game online, you can continue it offline without problems (which is not true for stone wardens, alas).

That doesn't surprise me. Stone Warden addon validation is horrible.

I specifically made sure that the GoG version works completely offline. I installed on an offline computer. Used stone warden and doombringer just fine!
