ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

So i saved melinda and then i went to talk to her in town and i flirted with her, but then when it came to the part where i had to ask her out i accidentally screamed at her saying "I'M A NICE GUY WHY AREN'T GIRLS ATTRACTED TO ME?" instead of the "er... just wondering" option and now whenever i talk to her we just repeat the conversation about what she's going to do next but i never get another opportunity... and it's strange because the quest Melinda Lucky Girl doesn't say failed so i'm confused? Can i still go out with her? Is this a bug or is there something i'm not doing?

Well, you see, she still feels grateful for you saving her, but wouldn't allow any advance between you, because... well. Would you on her place, honestly.

Hahahaha. That's hilarious! But, so is there no way for me to take her to the beach The quest in itself is so trivial i dunno why you're not allowed to redo it as many times as possible. I mean what if i wasn't a romantic guy and i thought that was the best thing to say?

In my opinion i think Dark God should make the quest infinitely repeatable until one chooses the right options

Sadly enough, as anyone who've ever interacted with human beings would tell you, that's not how stuff works.
This, afaik, is an intended dead end, and I wouldn't go as far as suggestions here.
