Fought some adventurers and found two armors. Both have the same armor and defense. Both add 3-3.7 life regen and 11-13% heal mod.
The first adds:
15% to all speeds, combat, mental, movement, etc
The second adds:
3 to str
3 dex
4 magic
3 will
4 cunning.
Which would you suggest?

Depends on what level you are. Early game benefits a lot from improved stats and fixed numbers (+40 life etc.) while late game benefits from percentages etc.

You will get a quicker and wider response if you ask these questions in the in-game chat (admittedly people don't respond as often to this kind of question I've found).
Having said that, as a general rule speed is extremely important and personally I would take the 15% one over the stats. The reason is that stats tend to fall off as the game progresses, whereas speed essentially "scales" with whatever you have already. Furthermore the second item does not really provide much in terms of survivability and damage.
You will probably find a better item soon enough, but it's important to keep certain criteria in mind when making equipment decisions.

Unless you have a reason to worry about stats (shoring them up for Talents or Prodigies for example), you shouldn't worry about them. Towards the end of the game your stats inflate quite a bit not to worry about them.
