ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

So, i'm always successfully able to get to the far east without any trouble! and i can return to eyal and go back just fine. However does anyone know how to deal with those stupid orc pyromancers? They seem to kill me every single time now, i'm either stuck in their wildfire or they're suicidal with giant fireballs. Not even my antimagic shield can handle them at this point. Its the only thing ever stopping me from a Win!

Have you tried leveling up silence until it reaches 10 range? Are you using a mindpower building class like psionic or wilder so that silence sticks?
