ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I just downloaded the game on my new computer and it wont connect to the internet "can't talk to people or log in my account"
My web connection is just fine, I am clueless on this one...

ToME is too popular, and the server is dieing. or atleast its the lasst thing i heard of
its not just you.

So my inability to log into chat is not unusual, or something I can fix from my end? In a way, that's good to know.
