ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

So... I started playing ToME in january, without internet access. I was save-scumming a lot, with perma-death not really appealing to me. I'm the type of person who invents characters and personalities for everyone. (I made an archer JUST to unlock oozemancers, and the archer was named after me...)

When I finally got my net back, I was pretty much burnt out of tome. But a couple of weeks ago it updated, and I went back to it. I bought the steam version, so I could use exploration mode to play semi-legit rather than putting a lot of effort into cheating.

And inspiration struck. I started writing short stories about various different characters of mine and their famous deeds. I shall be including the canonical plotline, but shall probably end up overshadowing it with my own end-of-the-multiverse scenario. I'm taking liberties with the classes exact abilities, messing with lore a little, but by and large your knowledge of the setting is correct. Biggest thing I've done is to make ziguranth a little less hardline.

I'm currently at chapter twelve, plus a mini-chapter. It's been shown to my friends, and the three or so people who follow the tales of maj'eyal and tome4 tags on Tumblr, but this seems the easiest way to get it out there. I hope someone enjoys it as much as I'm enjoying writing it.

Edit: Ah. Hm. I can't post them as links, so I'd have to drop them as plain text, which would kill any formatting... and since it's updating once a day, I'd end up completely drowning the blog notifications...

Chapter fifteen! Kirsten, the High Tempest (Human Archmage (Tempest))

As the dark god demands, chapter seventeen! It's 9am and I haven't slept yet but there is a line, dagnabbit.

Chapter seventeen features a cornac arcane 'blade' who wields a whip/chain, and has retired from the arena... several times.

Only 5am this time. Much better.

Backstory for Fulla, the Open Hand.

6am. Slipping.

Time for some more canon events, with Melinda making her appearance. I feel I rushed the ending slightly, but... everything that was meant to happen happened.

And reverted back to eight. sigh.

It's 11am. I screwed up my sleep schedule SO bad.

But still. With another adventurer, mechanically, this character goes a little further than mild cross-mage pollination.

I wanted to see if I could fight ENTIRELY using breath weapons.
The answer was no. Ow, equilibrium.

(Now, if Icy Claw and such would use the damage traits of my shield, I wouldn't need to compromise with a sword... maybe if I debug her Stoneshield...)

Anyhoo. I also figured it was time to show a sane ziguranth character.
