Steam vs Donations

I just found out about this game and thought it seemed really cool. But I wanted to clarify something before I got started.

Is the benefit of buying the game on steam just convenience based compared to using the free version and donating for the extra features. Also if you do buy it what fraction of the money actually goes to the dev? I guess it would rub me slightly the wrong way if everyones favorite drm excuse made too proportionally large a profit on a free game.

Yup it's the same, donating grants you a steam key too anyway :)

As for what fraction goes where, I'm nto at liberty to say how much steam takes, but it's obviously higher than what paypal takes :)
