(No, this is not about some weird Japanese - movies)

This is (one of the reasons) I like dwarves: Serpent's Glare and Eden's Guile on Reknor:1, Mighty Girdle on Reknor 3 and Girdle of Calm Waters on Deep Bellow 3. And yes, on a mindslayer.

Why do you love dwarves?

They grow their first beard in the womb.

1) Free levels for nightmare mode. Follow your buddy and be lv 5 for your first solo dungeon.
2) Power is money, hefty saves.
3) Stone walk, these guys can walk through walls.
4) Beards

They're brutally efficient machine-people with a kleptomaniacal love of all things expensive.
They are the "final" race, free of imperfection.
They are better than that other short race, and don't hesitate to make it known.

Who else read the lore surrounding these bearded heroes?

But your Dwarf will never love you, because you are not gold.

Exactly! It's a perfectly platonic sort of relation. Besides, everyone knows a Dwarf prefers Voratun. :)

Yes, dwarfs are like cats in that regard (except that cats prefer meat over gold, usually).

If I did not make it clear already, dwarfs are my favourite race in TOME 4. Great HP, manageable exp aptitude, saves (although they require investments both in terms of gold and talent points), great emergency escape with 1/5 in stone walk, bonus dungeons for extra artifacts, bonus backup guardian for extra exp, a PC doll that doesn't look like 10-year old boy (hello halflings) and BEARDS + also some bonus things for (very) few artifacts.

So yeah, dwarf love!

I'm pretty sure if your buddy kills things (that you did no damage to) you dont get exp. That was the reason i always change his target to himself and range to 1 so he wont follow you (and he is much safer this way).

I am pretty sure that you get the full expérience for any kill, was it by you, your buddy, or even a stray bullet from a stupid foe...

You get experience for your kills and your summons' kills. You also always get experience when a rare or greater dies, regardless of how it happened. You don't get experience for Norgan's kills: That's why you get the free levelups on every floor instead.

haha, that too
They make excelent killing machines, and able to take a lot of punishment (who doesn't like to see a dwarf getting his ass kicked and win the fight?)

I didn't say you shouldn't take any whacks. Just let Norgan take all the shots. As a lv5 he's taking punishment way better than you as lv1.

Still a waste of exp, also he often blocks the way for your attacks. Either you leave him behind or kill him yourself.

I dare you to start a NM dwarf char, kill Norgan and then solo through the dungeon.

My NM winner: dwarf/oozemancer. And i left Norgan at the start of every level (targetting himself with range 1) and saved him that way.
