Recommended addon / class addon?

Hey there, I've been playing TOME for quite a bit, but I've never really gotten into the addons and class addons. I'm just wondering if there are any recommended new classes that are well designed and balanced...but are also finished and polished to the same standard as the default classes.

I'm not sure if quality addons like that exist, but it can't hurt to ask...as I imagine I'd get several good hours of fun out of it.

I didn't mean to offend anyone, what I was trying to ask is if there's any class addons that are well done and polished akin to the ones currently in the game. Classes that are finished, polished, and balanced. The base game offers a lot of content, but out of sheer curiosity, I just wanted to dip my toes into the addon scene, and see if there was something worthwhile.

The default classes, the vast majority of them, are really polished, unique and synergistic.

On the site when you look at the add-ons you can see the star rating. So far I've enjoyed quite a few add-ons and while such add-ons like Trolls, Turtles and Faeries are really nice they might be on a bit of a powerful side.

I can't even remember many of them but Nullpack packs quite a few nicely balanced classes to pay with. Arcanum is another good one, though as the name implies it concentrates more on the magical side, while Nullpack has all kinds of classes.

Generally, if it's by Doctornull or HousePet, the addon will be balanced enough for most people. Check out their profiles on te4.org, and see if any float yer boat.

Shameless self promotion time! I think my Wight addon is quite nice and well-polished (unlike Trolls which might be fun but it's rough). Some stay the starting area is too hard, but I think after that that it's vaguely balanced.

For other races, Turtles seem to be very popular (though maybe not on the 'serious'side), and if you want new classes, I definetely suggest the Arcanum Class pack

Sort of debating putting this own addon on, but currently waiting until I'm doing current runs before messing around with them:

Breeding Pits Restoration Project

Not exactly a character to play but without a doubt a dungeon to look into adding in. The dungeon was in the game before it was removed by Darkgod (you can read the update comments for why if you want) and served as a way as reducing Orc Patrols.

Try a Magebow. They're complete and bug free, but I'm still developing it further. I think they're balanced, well designed, and polished, but that might just be my ego talking.

lukep ninja'd me, but I would saw magebow as well. They're different enough since theres only 2 archery classes in the game.

HousePets addons are great as are DoctorNulls as previously mentioned. StarKeep didnt want to toot his own horn but he's made some nice ones as well.

I'd like to throw in a recommendation for Misiu Pysiu's Blood Knight class. It's pretty strong at the moment, though the developer is very active in balancing and improving the class, receptive to feedback, and knowledgeable about the game. The class is an absolute blast to play, and has a set of abilities that are very satisfying and fun to use, centered the unique and currently underrepresented theme of bleed damage.

I will say that the Crimson talent tree in the class is rather overpowered, but I didn't really notice on my playthrough as I avoided the tree. Misiu Pysiu has stated in the thread that they are working on balancing that tree.

Note that this particular class isn't up on the addon section of the site just yet, so you may not be able to validate (I'm not sure what that means or entails though).

The only addon you need right now is zOmnibus.

It's my hope that my classes are better balanced than core, which contains stuff like the Oozemancer. If you've already cleared the game with lots of core classes, then I'm very interested in your input on whatever isn't balanced or working right.

Cheers!

Just wanted to say thanks for this, I'm REALLY enjoying the class so far. I'm pretty terrible at Tome, so I usually avoid the more advanced melee classes...but this class is very fresh / original. Tanking damage by converting it to bleeds is a really clever mechanic.

It's not exactly a secret that the Oozemancer is overpowered.

Do you think anyone could credibly argue that the Oozemancer is balanced?

Mmmmmmmmmmmaybe?

If they diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid, the linchpin of the argument would certainly be loss of Arcane items.

No consolation for the poor souls destroyed by Oozemancer randbosses, of course.
