Just played my first character

I just started playing ToME and my first character had a great run. He managed to unlock a couple of new classes, find out where some interesting villiges might be, oh and get stomped to death by a hoard of angry giants
I must say, game gives a great first impression, and this might just jump to the top of my list of all time favorite roguelikes
Name: Ara
Designation: Human Bulwark
Status: Deceased
Cause of Status: Giant Stomping on his head
Now what would be a great class for my next run?

Build an Alchemist they are a fun change of pace from the sturdy tanks.
You get to hide behind a meat shield while throwing bombs everywhere!

If you died on Daikara, you can probably join the legion of every other player in the game. Bring some +lightning resistant items!
Welcome to the community, and we're all glad to see a satisfied new player.

I fear Daikara more than Dreadfell. Particularly because I can stop myself from opening Dreadfell vaults (well just the first door to take a peek...NOPE) but I can't help but try to clear the mountain giant towns in Daikara.

My first character survives four dungeons and makes it to a place that apparently everyone dies in, the next five die in their introductory dungeons.
That is ok, apparently I'm not suited to magery

I think most noob-friendly class is a Summoner. Just remember to get a teleport rune at use it indiscriminately.

Lightning resist actually shouldn't be your #1 priority for Daikara, I've found. Good cold resist (or fire for alt Daikara) + good armor + a torque of charged psionic shield (for the occasional thunderer) should get you through in one piece.
