ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Is there something special you have to do to get Steam achievements to register? I have the game on Steam and play through it, but no achievements I get register on Steam, just on the te4 website.

There seems to be a problem with Steam achievements for this game. If you go to the game page of achievements, none of them ever show up. If you go the Steam overlay from within the game, however, it correctly notes the last one you've unlocked.

Yeah, you're right, they show up in the overlay but that's it. If you click on the details or look at your account on the Steam website, it doesn't show anything. Anyone else have this problem?

I've been earning quite a few achievements with my current character (Skeleton Berserker) that haven't shown up on Steam. I think that maybe it's tied to character death... As in the achievements won't show up until the current character dies.

Since I usually abandon characters before their final death that could be a problem. I'll try to purposely kill off a few hopeless losers and see if that helps.

Unless you abandon them by deleting your saves, you should be able to nuke yourself pretty easily. If nothing else, drop by Last Hope and drown. Unless you're Undead, where that just doesn't work...

Nah, I just stopped playing them. I did so, only to be foiled by the current network issues. Oh well.

Doesn't seem like dying makes them register either. They don't seem to work at all unless someone has experienced otherwise.

After speaking with DG, apparently it's an issue on Valve's side. I guess Valve can't handle 1300 achievements on one game. We just have to wait for them to fix it.

Well, it's never been done before, so it's not surprising that it might break a few things.
