Like every other human, darkgod is required to exchange currency for essential goods and services like food and shelter. The Orc campaign will be a paid campaign as he specifically stated in the thread.

First off the campaign needs to be made before this kind of decisions are made.
Then no lord blade, this doesnt mean the end of "free stuff". ToME itself will still receive updates as usual.

Ah, so this is a separate campaign then? Not tied to the base one?

I didn't see where you talked about this, so I was confused.
It was concerned that we wouldn't get more free updates (like races/classes/talents) to the base game. Looks like this new campaign will have constructs as a playable race. Will those be available to the base game as well?

That's good to hear. I was basically hoping for more info on what's part of this new campaign and what ToME itself will continue to get.

You're a great dev. You're an even better one when you show up while I'm playing and start tossing those bonus zones my way.
Even fun when you keep spawning all those super beasties trying to kill me (they dropped great loot).

I'm not yet ready to reveal much on the orc campaign, but is is actively worked on now that steam is out

Don't need specifics on what's in the campaign exactly. Just more curious as to whether they will be separate features.

Its a separate campaign where you play as an Orc, and it has weird steamtech classes.

Same as the construct race.

I don't believe the construct race is planned as playable anytime soon, and it wouldn't make sense to be playing the first campaign as an Orc.
Infinite Dungeon and Arena sound fine though.

Even though I've donated my share for ToME I'd say this is great news, for many reasons I shouldn't have to say aloud.

Way to go DG! Hope the orc campaign finally buys that house I see mentioned on the donation page.
