Because I can't even get a start screen to show up. I've tried compatability mode, but to no avail.

Any pointers?

I'm not sure how it works in Windows world but in Linux there are different executables for different processor architectures.

If you can run just any random regular .exe file then chances are the architecture doesn't matter and the problem lies elsewhere.

I gotta admit, if you can get the game running on tablet I'd be quite a bit jealous.

Edit: Have you tried via command line? It won't start any better, but you might get an error message that might help.

Yes! TOME does indeed run unmodified on a Surface Pro. I have had no issues getting it running using the launcher.

HOWEVER

Without a keyboard, you will have to run in windowed mode, in order to bring up the virtual keyboard and enter a character's name.
Without a mouse, you cannot scroll any of the menus, including your character's abilities list. The lists have to be scrolled using a mouse wheel or using keyboard navigation. The game is playable if you use a virtual trackpad ( like http://www.lovesummertrue.com/touchmousepointer/en-us/). DarkGod is aware of the issue, but only time will tell when we might see a fix.
