A continuity issue in lore? Bug? (Possible lore spoilers)

Attempting to keep this spoiler free, since I'm not sure if I fail to understand something, or if it's a bug, or what. So I'm not sure where it should be.

Basically, you can find in lore letters between Rolf and Weisman, that tell a story along the way. The conclusion to this story, is only available from dwarves. Upon finally GETTING said conclusion, I am confused. They speak of setting out from derth, to slay a creature in the ruins to the north. This can only be Korpul.

They then proceed to flee from it's monstrous might. One then proceed to go to [spoiler] to face the threatening thing they met before, needing to confront his fear. But... They go somewhere different.

This... is a total and complete break in continuity, unless there are two different [spoiler name of boss] in the world, or I fail to understand something.

*head explodes*

Perhaps Burb Lulls can chime in as the author of those pieces... But in general are you saying the continuity problem is with the directions given?

I can't really offer an explanation here, seeing as I only wrote the lore up to "letter to Weisman (3)", leaving the pair with 25% less eyes, but alive. Hedrachi was the one to suggest a continuation of their journal entries, and indeed, the backup guardian itself.

Yes, the continuity problem is that they went 'north from Derth', met some horrible beast, and later went BACK to the same beast, in... someplace far far away. Either it needs to be clear about it being a different beast (which doesn't make sense. The description fits the mouth better then anything in KorPul), or it needs to alter the directions some to account for the discrepancy. Or some explanation for the mouth appearing in another dungeon, and being capable of movement. Several possible solutions.

I'm fairly sure that lore was written before the mouth existed. I think it's referring to Grrglkkks-whatever.

Then the last lore needs to account for the difference then. It says 'go back to face the fear', implying that it's the same beast that so horribly frightened them before. And says 'already slain by another opponent', notably, you, implying it was the mouth. If it's about Grgglck (which would certainly fit) then you need to explain away the 'already slain by another' part in the lore, or explain that it isn't the same beast. Especially since it can trip when Griggy is still alive.

It's definitely not the Mouth. I guess the Gurgle being dead thing is just an assumption by that time of the game.
