My current character was a stone warden, which seems to be broken after upgrading to 1.04. Is there any way to get him to work in 1.04 ?

Define broken.

Why did you upgrade if you had a character you cared about?

There really should be a warning for us noobs that savefiles won't be compatible with new versions. Some people are not used to the indy game developer experience.

Professional companies aren't much better these days...

By broken I mean my stone warden abilities that were on my bar have question marks and when I mouse over them I get lua errors.

I definitely qualify for the newb tag, but a warning that previous saves would not be compatible would be helpful.

I really like this game, but it seems there should be a work around to separate game updates from the save files. It's interesting to me that add-ons are also not compatible with saves before installing the add-ons as this falls into the same sort of save file separation issue.


Oh well, this was just my first character to make the fortress with no deaths and some good gear.

Saves cant be made fully compatbile due to the way the engine work, but some more warning would be good yes

Assuming you used the launcher.

Can't you go to the website and redownload 1.03 so you can keep playing your old character?

I tried reverting back to the 1.03, but I don't see my saved game.

Have you turned on show incompatible saves?
