Hey everyone! So, I've been busy the last few weeks putting together a little project. It's not quite at 100% yet, but I think it's close enough that I can start putting out a few teaser images for it.

I present a new fan game crossover: Tales of Maj'Eyal X Mega Man!

Image

That's right! Take control of the Blue Bomber and face eight of the most challenging bosses Eyal has to offer!

Image

Travel to areas of ToME that you know and love, now lovingly rendered in stunning 8-bit! From the arboreal domain of the Ziguranth, to the battlements of the Gates of Morning!

Disclaimer: I've only ever played with ASCII on, but I guess that's what a Sun Paladin looks like.

Collect eight powerful weapons, storm the High Peak, and face the villain behind it all!

Image

Intriguing, right? Well, if you want to help out with this fangame's development, feel free to visit the Kickstarter (I'll put a link up when I figure out how to) and drop me a buck or fifty! Just take a look at these stretch goals!

Code: Select all

$2,000 - Keyboard Support
$5,000 - DLC Pack 1: Two new levels! Face Urh'Rok in the Fearscape, and the Last Hope Elder in Last Hope!
$10,000 - Minigame Add-On! Raise your own virtual Melinda!
$50,000 - Equippable artifacts! Customise your Mega Man, give yourself game-breaking abilities, pretend you're good at platformers!
?100,000 - DLC Pack 2: Two other new levels! Face Fryjia Loren in the Bearscape, and Grim in the Blighted Ruins!
$500,000 - Jiggle Physics
Queries and suggestions regarding this new fangame are welcome! Criticism isn't.

Ah, this is the first good one I've seen today. For great ideas about Virtual Melinda, you should check out the little girl ranches in Elona. Also +1 to 8-bit jiggle physics.

Of course darkgod would want more 'jiggle'... Have you seen Linaniil recently?

What was wrong with the little girls in Elona? If you check the character sheets, they're not that little... And when they can swing that claymore to 1-hit things that you struggle with, well... who wouldn't want a ranch of those. Hail the mighty army of cute! :D

From now on I'll be forced to imagine Urkis as looking rather akin to Chuck Norris...

Ah, Elona. I think I've spent more time rerolling aliases at character creation than actually playing it...

Anyway, regarding the fangame, I was just putting the finishing touches on the Orc Greatmother's jiggle physics (the only place they're used, BTW) when there was a knock at my door, yadda yadda, Capcom lawyers came in, yadda yadda yadda, put their boots to me, yadda yadda yadda, no more fangame.

Sorry. :(

Are you sure this wasn't just an April Fool's joke? How did lawyers even find out about this? I thought it was okay as long as you didn't profit from it, either. Guess my legal knowledge could still use some work. EDIT: Missed the kickstarter bit, now I see the problem.

This should get more attention. I read the whole post without looking at the date and I was wondering why someone would make a ToME4-inspired Megaman game, but stranger things have happened on the Internet. Nice job.

I was completely taken at first - I only started to get slightly suspicious when I reached the "sun paladin" caption (which is hilarious).
