ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

So, after killing the miniboss on level 2 of the land of Poosh and acquiring the Heart of Poosh, I tried to leave the level. Nope, not working. "z" didnt take me to the exit, I combed every single square trying to find it, and in desperation dealt damage to myself (by drowning) to use the heart of poosh to see if it would do something. Unfortunately, I waited 1 turn to long in the water. I died. On my last life.

So how do I leave the Land of Poosh? (for future reference)
