I donated to TOME and didn't receive any e-mails with information on how to obtain the added benefits. Item vault, etc.

I e-mailed the donations e-mail address. Was that the best avenue?

Am I missing something? I don't understand how to enable those features.

Were you logged in to the same account you use to play ToME at the time? If so, then the extras should be automatically unlocked if you start the game while connected to the server.
