ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Hi, I played ToME over a year ago and now I'm picking it up again. Since it's been so long, I'd like to start over with nothing unlocked. I've looked around and it doesn't seem possible, but is there any way for me to clear my progress?

I think it's possible by deleting the "allow_build.profile" files (on Windows, they are in C:\Users\[username]\T-Engine\4.0\profiles\online\modules\tome\ and ...\profiles\offline\modules\tome\) and not logging in to your online account.

Yeah, that's what I did. I'm currently just playing offline, but I'd like to be able to use my online account.

You could make a new account.

I know that's a possibility, but I really want to keep my account name, which is why I'm even open to a "delete account" option.

Would it be totally impossible to add a 'reset account' button that reset our unlocks, but preserved donator status on DarkGod's end of things? Something that we could click while viewing our account (with suitable chicken prompts, and maybe a 're-enter your password' thing. Or something we could manage ingame, perhaps, where we could hit 'wipe achievements/unlocks' (either, or, or both) and reset that aspect of our account?

How much does this reset? Are previous character dumps preserved? Donator status?

This is a very nice feature indeed for us impatient ones who downloaded the unlock profile file from the forums when we started playing, and now wish for a second chance to do everything ourselves. Thanks! A note for everybody trying this: if your currently loaded character is temporarily disconnected from the server at the moment you press the reset button, this doesn't work. Caused a little bit of confusion this morning before I figured it out..

Hmm... so what would happen if I were to make a backup copy of my achievements.profile file, reset my achievements via the website, and then copy achievements.profile back into place with a few spurious achievements edited out? Would the client-side list of remaining achievments be re-uploaded to the server, or would the lack of achievements server-side re-clobber the client-side list?
