Donating properly... DERP?

I've been told it's possible to donate as a guest, without requiring an actual paypal account, using prepaid gift cards. I've also seen a lot of people talk about donating and then not being credited for it. Can I get some detailed idiot-proof instructions on what steps to take to avoid problems along the way? I've got a prepaid visa gift card, and part of it is earmarked for Darkgod... But I'd prefer not to run into problems, hence this topic.

It happened to a few people and is easily fixed
But anyway, simply be logged in when you donate (logged ingame if you donate from ingame or logged on the site if you do from the site)

Donated, through the website, while logged into the website (name in the top left corner). SHOULD work now. Got a email, said the funds were taken, blah blah blah. Now to check and see if the game made it work. Congrats, you're the proud owner of a chunk of my money!
