Adam Smith, a big roguelike fan at Rock Paper Shotgun, has just published this article on ToME encouraging everyone to play it:

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/01 ... roguelike/

This is pretty cool stuff, and should ensure a nice influx of players (and donators!)

Is it "valid" enough to warrant a wikipedia entry? :)

Heh, maybe :) There's also a few quotes worth pulling out for things like the Steam Greenlight page:

"TOME has neat graphics and a friendly interface. Download it immediately."
"If you didn’t download TOME immediately then please do so now, unless you’re at work, in which case it’s acceptable to wait until your lunch break. Take your lunch break immediately."
"it offers new worlds full of mystery and danger"
"easy to use and to understand"
"TOME could be the gateway game you've been waiting for"

"It’s also free, though lacking in humour and gargantuan eyebrows."

There's certainly humor in ToME....

More subtle (and smart ;> ) though ;)

I setup a second download site, the download button now cycles with it so it should be better :)

And .. YAY !!!!!! RPS !!!

This article is why I'm here. Can't wait to play this when I have time. If it's 1/10th as addictive as it looks, I'll be donating.

Actually, I wrote Adam Smith (exactly a week ago) an e-mail that was basically "I'm in no way related to the TOME development team, but I'm a fan of RPS and ToME and fear the developers might have forgotten to contact you when they released their 1.0.0 version". (I knew that Adam Smith does the reviews for all the roguelikes for RPS)

I don't want to gloat, but rather encourage people with better marketing skills than me to make a press releases whenever there are big releases and send them to not just RPS but also stuff like tigsource.com, indiegames.com, etc.
