ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

My lv5 shadowblade accomplished the achievement in lv1 of Norgo's lair at the cost of an early death. Accidentally used phase door and appeared amid numerous enemies when my condition was not well. Tried my best to run away but there was no chance I could make it. Got the achievement the moment I was sent to the plane for the dead, guess a rat was killed by my tooth(15 blight damage when is hit) or what.
It's consoling to know I didn't die for nothing. And it makes me have a special feeling. I have longed for the achievement. In enduring pursuit I can't accomplish it, and I suddenly got it in such an unintended situation.

yeah "that was close" is REALLY hard to get on purpose... When you get it AND don't die, you REALLY feel "That was close!"

*coughs* It's actually really easy to get on purpose, it just takes a specific class.

Namely berserker. Unstoppable makes that cheevo a cinche

That and Necromancer-the req is not actually getting 1 HP, it is one or less. Necromancers, thanks to a specific skill, can do that easy. There's an equip set that can let anyone go under 1 HP for a bit too. Sun Paladin's Second Life would also make it safe enough to try getting on purpose.

Having said that, none of that is even remotely early in the game-the Berserker way is earliest, and Unstoppable is in a locked L10 tree, at the end of it, I believe.
