ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I'm returning to Tome after a bit of a break. My profile says my most recent character was b34 from 43 weeks ago. I have reformatted and re-installed windows since then.

So I just downloaded and installed b42. I fire it up and log in. Unfortunately nothing is unlocked. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? I'm not really interested in hacking things, if I have to start again I will.

I sometimes find it takes a minute or two to sync. Leave the ToME process running in the menu screen a little while and then try starting a character.
