ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I just started playing ToME again yesterday and everything was going fine until I reached the Sandworm Queen. The battle started off normally with me putting up a displacement shield and cycling through my set of attack spells. I always kept my health above 50% throughout the battle, but somehow I died shortly after casting lightning even though the log does not report me taking any damage or even that I had been killed.

Any thoughts?

Death damage is almost never reported, unfortunately. Assuming that it was the SWQ who hit you, I'd guess it was Sand Breath, just because it tends to do a lot of burst damage. It could have also been a random elite that you couldn't see.

In retrospect I was building too much like a glass cannon. Since all of the previous bosses were only able to do slight damage at most, I was feeling a little invulnerable. I'll try more constitution this time.

The log doesn't update while blind.

You can check your te4log in the game folder next time if you're curious to see what it was (it's probably over written by now if you've played at all since then). It can be kinda hard to read though, even for me (the signal to noise ratio can be really bad as a 'combat log' since it's mostly for debugging).
