does ToME have persistent levels?

I've been playing dungeon crawl for a while and I'm considering trying out tome, but do the dungeon levels remain unchanged when you leave for a while and come back? I've heard that angband is like that and I'm worried that tome is too.

Yes they persist. But its not really an issue because you cannot grind. Monsters don't regenerate. There is a myriad of early dungeons on Maj'Eyal, enough to get you to about lvl 30.
There is a special place where you can go to where the dungeons sort of regenerate. Though it's pretty dangerous.
