ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Good thing this is a dumb question thread...

So here is the deal, I am just starting out with TOME and TE4, I made a fighter and the first game I played I had the option to hit CTRL to compare items, and it was showing the specific stat changes for the items I was comparing. ever since then each character I make doesn't have that option, but it shows the item I am wielding in a "side by side" view when I mouse over an item in my inventory...
Also, and this is actually the more annoying part, that first game, when I hovered over a weapon, it would show some detail stats like weapon speed 100% and now it doesn't. (sorry, wep speed is the only one I can remember and easily tell that it's not showing anymore)

Also, and I'm not sure if this is related, but first game when I went into a town, it had graphic icons for the townspeople and now they are all just "P". yes, my icon is still a graphic and not an "@" sign, and most of the monsters in the jungle/dungeon are graphics (notably human characters in the jungle such as master thieves are "P"s in the jungle)

I have poked around with my graphic options and even deleted my entire tome directory but to no avail.

Any help out there?

Just to check, what version are you using? Sounds like you're having an odd mix of b27 and b28 features.

My TOME version is 3.9.26
my T4E version is 0.9.26

Mind you, I just downloaded the windows installer exe from the download page, no compiling for me.

That'd be beta26, maybe 26b. Head on over to the download page and download beta 28 at the top of the page. Small note: As a general rule of thumb, each version increase will NOT let you continue saved games from previous betas.
