What happened!?

The last time I played was during beta13. Have been a bit busy but found some spare time so I decided to come check out how it's going...I barely recognize the game! Not saying this is a bad thing, I just want to know the reason for some of the drastic changes (eg. What happened to Middle Earth? Scrolls? etc).
One thing that does sadden me a little is how easy the game feels now. Before it was difficult to survive and you had to play carefully. But now...I'm having difficulty trying to kill my character off!

(Yes I know I can ramp up the difficulty setting, but with the infusions, etc it still wont be the same).
Anyway I think you're doing an amazing job DG! Certainly managed to shock me with the amount of progress over the last few months. Keep it up

I never played with potions but from what I hear, infusions make the beginning easier but make the end harder. I only gotten to the far east once, but even with 30% extra healing 200 healing with a 5 turn recharge and a 300+ life regen with a recharge of 13, I my
level 30 wyrmic died pretty easily.

About leaving Tolkien-lore it had to be. As you probably know Middle-Earth "stuff" as places, characters and other details are copyrighted so darkgod decided to leave and avoid possible troubles with the tolkien brand managers. It's a bit sad leave our beloved tolkien ambient but also make TOME free of the "curse" of have to follow so faithful that world. It opens new possibilities to the new setting.

"30% extra healing" has no effect on a regeneration infusion. I don't know whether it works on healing infusions.

Thanks for pointing that out greycat, I hadn't realized that and just confirmed it in the code.

Yeah I thought it might have had something to do with IP. Good point about it opening up new possibilities too
It may just be me...every time I play now I'm comparing it with the older versions. Still one of my favourite games to date though
