ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

The game wouldn't update to the new version (said everything is up to date which it wasn't) so i downloaded the new version and copied over the old one and when starting a new character it says something along the lines of:

Bad version. Ignoring profile

what gives?

The "copied over" is the problem

Put it in a new directory it'll work (your profile data, saves, unlocks, ... are not in this directory anyway you can simply remove the old one)

lol now i feel dumb.
