Equilibrium...

Yeah, the particular character type I'm using can't restore equilibrium in battle. How exactly does equilibrium work, and can a character handle higher values with higher willpower?

Your equilibrium gives you a chance of failure to invoke the power. You can recover equilibrium by:
- Spending some time in the wilderness.
- Using a skill that recovers equilibrium (Meditation, Swallow, Resolve)
- Using an item which recovers equilibrium: (helm of the wild)

Edit: Just checked the code...
Apparently your Willpower gets subtracted from your Equilibrium for the purpose of calculating the failure chance. So if you have a Will 30, you won't fail if your Equilibrium os below 30.

thanks. Oh, and is there any way to get summons with AOE to not attack you?

yeah, not get in the way :P

as a summoner you shouldnt be doing the fighting, your summons should, so once you get the hang of summoning, you should be able to figure out how (not trying to be too spoilery). I guess a main way is to use terrain to your advantage.

Only in SVN. In beta 13, you can fail with 0 Equilibrium.

Err, you're right... I always check the SVN version so sorry about that. Btw, does this mean that Anti-magic shield is completely overpowered in SVN now?

no, because anti-magic shield is only "armor vs spells" anyway. It's not an absolute defense (at least, I don't believe it is), and it requires a fair number of generic points to get there.

Also, the Antimagic Shield can boost your Equilibrium quite fast... You have to monitor that resource much more carefully when you have the shield on...
