Hello, signed because i felt i wanted to share this =))
Kudos to darkgod for this very entertaining roguelike
anyway to what i wanted to say, golems with ego weapons hit like trains, seriously. finally had bill killed with and alchemist, and got his trunk for my trusted companion, and after that game became kinda easy, aslong as i watch the golems HP. i assume it's supposed to be like this ^^ since i pretty much can get smoked in one hit, while he can take the beating.
either way, it makes for interesting play, having to navigate around your golem to not get screwed is interesting to say the least
any other people experiancing OP golems?
Kudos to darkgod once again

Heh. Do you have advanced Golemancy? If you max both of the passives in that talent tree the golem becomes nigh un-killable.
Then again, I did this, and then died in tol falas while my golem ran off to fight an enemy. >.>

Something like WoW's pet control would be nice, to stop deaths like that: option to tell it to only pursue npcs that damage it/alchy, or only attack on command... or to tell it to attack something without using a spell like Golem: Crush.

i got to lvl 8, but apparently my internet was abit unstable so it didn't send the save, so when i logged on him again, it was lvl 4 >_> not killed bill yet..... haha sucks for me ^^

that would be very nice actually, i can't count how many times my golem runs off leaving me alone, like Zaive said, it hurts

How do you get your golem to equip weapons?

@Deyja
Make sure you're using beta 11b. 11 got ninja replaced because of a savefile bug. May need to redownload (your 11a savefile should be compatible).

It will come with a weapon. To change weapons cast refit when your golem has full life.

If he dies, does he lose said equipped weapon (or armor for that matter)?

No they don't although that idea has been thrown around before. Not necessarily losing said equipment, but leaving it on the ground.

Seems like a good idea. 15 alch gems is not much of a consequence.

I haven't actually noticed, seeing as you can't look at what your golem has equipped on it, but do they regenerate with new equipment, or do they keep the previous equipment? The reason I'm asking this again is I haven't heard word on it yet, and it's been a month since it was asked last.

They keep the same equipment between reconstructions. My current alchemist's golem has kept its icy mithril greatmaul of accuracy despite being torn to bits probably a dozen or more times.
Anyway, easy way to check is just swap their weapon for something else after you rebuild a destroyed one. The item they were previously wearing returns to your inventory.
Also, on golems in general... pretty rocking, but unfortunately flimsy. You'd think 666 hp and dwarven-steel platemail would mean more, honestly. Guess Tol Falas critters just hit harder... I'd like to invest more in the advanced golemancy stuff, but I still need the skill points for other stuff (bombs!). It'll come in time, I guess.
I do wish there was more to do with the thing, though. Maybe add more arms or somethin'.

Not sure if it was already suggested: Why is the golems equipment not shown the same way the players is shown in the inventory screen?

...because the equipment screen is generic. It's exactly the same for everyone.
Mind you, it *would* be nice to be able to check out your golem's gear without using Refit. It's not so much the gem cost or mana cost as it is the cooldown after you realize that the weapon that he was wearing really is better than the one you were trying to give him... and then consider whether or not to do the same thing to the armor.
