Two questions

Been mostly playing archers and slingers so far and I've run into a pair of things I can't figure out.
First, other than by selling some of the arrows at a town, how do you split stacks of arrows? A lucky run of ammo creation in the maze left my last archer with ~700 regular ash arrows plus a handful of yew arrows and a couple hundred branded ash arrows, resulting in encumbrance problems. I couldn't figure out how to split up that enormous stack of ash arrows to dump, say, 200-300 of them so I kept tossing away loot rather than dump ALL of those arrows at once (which, if he had to buy them at a store, would have been vastly more expensive than that loot had any hope of selling for).
Second, the square in the bottom right hand corner of the screen with all the commands went blank. Fortunately, I knew all the commands and had a pretty good grasp of the cooldowns by that point so it really didn't affect anything, but on a class I hadn't been playing as much it would have been a problem. Restarting the game, resizing the window, changing the resolution and graphics modes had no effect, but when the character finally died (one-rounded by The Minotaur! Oh, the shame!) and I rolled up a new character, it was back to working properly. Did I turn it off somehow?

I agree, that would be nice. Maybe when "dropping" items that stack you can be given a dialog for how many to drop? Similar to selling?

Could you have hit Tab on accident? This changes that window from displaying the hotkeys to displaying any visible monsters.

Page up and Page down can do that too if you don't have any hotkeys yet on your second and third pages.

Good call edge... maybe there should be a little text at the top of the Hotkeys display saying "Hotkeys Page 1" or something like that?

I think, at the moment, you don't. Someone on another thread suggested a way to deal with this, and I think DG was keen, so maybe we will get a different way of handling ammo in beta 10.
As a workaround, if you only want to dump them, you could always fire a few hundred arrows into the wall

I believe Repton is referring to
this thread if you want to check it out.

Good to know about ammo. I usually run out of encumbrance weight well before I run out of slots, so I guess I wont merge arrow stacks anymore unless I really have to. Also, thanks for the link to the ammo thread, had missed that. I had wondered about the conforming damage but I assumed it was doing something tricky like showing raw damage in inventory and damage with bonuses after equipped.
Hmm, I use tab for targeting all the time so it wasn't that, and I tried page up and down but I don't think that did it. Ah well, perhaps I'll experiment later and see if I can do it again, thus allowing me to fix it.

Huh, I've somehow done it again and made the box no longer show the command list. A little bit of testing has determined that it is not a result hitting tab nor pageup/page down. If I use the Tab key, I can toggle the box between being blank and targeting visible monsters but it won't make my hotkeys reappear. Any suggestions? Am I being dense or is this a bug?

I don't think you CAN run out of slots in the inventory. I've gotten to the point once where the bottom of the inventory was beyond the letter z and started using random symbols instead.
At least, I have never run out of slots, ever.

Elliott, check what keys you have bound for "Previous Hotkey Page" and "Next Hotkey Page" and press those. I think the defaults is page-up/down but maybe you have something different. Also, the next time that this happens quit and check the stdout log for any Lua errors.
