command list?

I am somewhere where it looks like I have to talk to someone. (spoiler here--->) Unknown tunnels, looks like there is a merchant or assassin I need to speak with, and no way out of the area.
Can anyone tell me how to talk to another? I tried "Y" with no luck.
Yeah ok I was just nervous. It appears all I had to do was "bump" him. I was afraid it would initiate an attack, but instead it was dialogue. Maybe this will help someone else out somewhere.
