turns wasted?

I don't know if this has been discussed already, if so I apologize in advance. I have noticed that when you move into a wall, a turn is still expended, even though your character didn't actually do anything. As a player you then have to be extremely careful sometimes to always make sure your hand hasn't drifted on the numpad, one wrong move can mean the permadeath.

I am no programmer, so I don't know how to dissect how the engine handles when a turn has taken place. I am assuming of course that it counts a turn on the keypress event, and not the actual movement event. Can it be made to not execute a turn on movement unless movement actually occurred?

You could very easily change this behavior as it is meant as a feature, not a limitation of the engine. I believe it is currently used by people to reset talent cooldowns since resting will stop after you are at full health, etc. Maybe wall-running should be made an option?

I would prefer, since you can stand still simply pressing "5" on the keypad or clicking on yourself (actually this doesn't work if there are no monsters in sight, but will be fixed in b10).

For me playing on my laptop running into a wall is currently the most convenient option to pass time.

R and FN+keypad5 both mean 2 keys, mouse (even if it worked) would involve not just clicking but also aiming.
