Design your zone!

Hello

I have quite a few zones planned up until the end game but I was pondering what zone would you like to see ?
Old ones from T2, new ones, whatever, define them!

Erebor was probably my favorite dungeon in T2. I'm not sure I would want another double-sized dungeon in T4, Moria is more than enough! However, the excitement and danger of all those breath weapons (and correspondingly good rewards) was a lot of fun.

Well, next beta(this weekend hopefully) there will be new kind of dragons, multi-hued ones and I am sure one of the next favorite monster the Greater Multi-hued Wyrm, all kind of breath weapons with very hight talent level, resistance to the elements and physical damage, damage shield, summoning.
Oh yes you'll love it! :)

Next zone ? ;)

well, if you worked on other starting zones you could actually split up the starting locations like you want to ;)

so I suppose a list of what zones on middle earth are planned (you dont have to mention "hidden" zones) would be beneficial for people who want to suggest new zones

here is a list (not at all comprehensive) that will eventually be in game:
  • Mirkwood
  • Barrow Downs
  • Illusory Castle
  • some more places with orcs (not going to name them all right now :P)
  • that is all that I can think of off the top of my head (the starting zones are mostly figured out as far as I know...)

I really will love that as long as they don't have super-crappy drops or something. High stakes is fun!

This could be an absolute pain to code but a hall of mirrors type level could be... fun? Interesting? Actually I probably wouldn't know until I tried it, but I figured I would share the idea. In story it could be a side level used to protect a wizard's inner sanctum.

Since there are water-breathing amulets etc....

The Caverns of Osse

One of the three silmarils is seen in the sky in the morning and evening, carried by Earendil. One of them was engulfed in lava, and one was thrown into the waters of the ocean. In time, Maglor became so distraught that he dived in after it, driven by the ancient Oath of Feanor. But he did not end up in Mandos -- he was changed into a water breather by Osse, who missed the elves, and now guards the Water Silmaril.

Monsters: Various fish, sharks, electric eels, (rare) kraken
Maglor, Last Son of Feanor the Maker: Level 45 [He's REALLY old!] STR 40, DEX 30, MAG 50, WIL 10 [lowest since the Oath could not be resisted at the end] CUN 40, CON 30, 40 Spellpower
Two-handed weapons master, Spells: Tidal Wave, Corrosive Vapour, Freeze, ...? As a son of Feanor, he might also have fire spells.
Artifact: The Water Silmaril (light source), Activates for illuminate level and tidal wave (80 out of 150/150), Radius 6 light, +4 to all stats EXCEPT WIL (maybe -2 WIL?), +30 mana points, +40 stamina points, 25 Spellpower

[Maglor should be tougher at least than the Elven Mummy. I've always thought that the *bands severely underpowered the silmarils since the Elven rings seem to be based on just where the silmarils were. And no one, not even Aule, was able to make things like he did. And the Air Silmaril is bright enough that it can be seen in the sky for part of the time when the Golden Fruit is in the sky as well as powerful enough to pass a barrier erected by the Valar. It's also weird that they do seem to recognize the great power of the Nauglamir, but don't remember that it's Earendil's Star that powered it....]

This is just what I needed to finish my water zone (there is already one but it's innaccessible)!

The zones have to be from middle earth fourth age or anything goes? :)

Well post your ideas we'll see if they can be integrated :)
But yes the timeframe is the fourth age, although I am not against time travel, but it has to be worth it ;)

The Cavern of Ossë and the Flooded Cave are now implemented, with some twists ;)
Thanks!

Continue giving ideas ;)

Been a while, but I recall some huge goblin fortress/capitol in the far north of the misty mountains called "Gunband" or something like that. The goblins were pretty well beaten, but it's almost inevitable that the deepest dungeons are still teeming with goblins. So goblin groups (just like the ant nests in the old forest) roam the lower dungeons and in the very bottom dungeon is a huge open hall with a tiny entrance, and in it is a dragon. Ages ago the goblins had captured a baby dragon and dragged him into the pits, and now as he has grown he has become trapped by his size and the sheer deepness of the dungeon. All those goblins down there only survive by not letting any roaming travelers escape to tell the elves of them. So by now, they've rigged up the whole place with traps everywhere! Not to mention the goblin swords and arrows are poisoned. For the prize to be gained? I half thought of Durin's Ring, but this is the fourth age. Instead, I thought about Glamdring, how it was stolen from Gondolin and how gloves are not in the game yet, so I came up with this: "The gloves of Gondolin's Blacksmith, %20 fire resistance, %20 blight resistance."

Sorry about the long post, but I pretty much made it up as I wrote and got carried away. :D
