Player races: Skeleton & Ghoul

Hello
Skeletons and Ghoul player races are now done (need some polish; and latter a different start location/quest).
Any ideas how they should be unlocked ?
Just encountering them seems a tad too easy to me.
All undead races have many undead immunities/resists and all have access to a special line of talents:
* Ghouls
** Ghoul: +2 str/con per talent level
** Ghoulish Leap: jump
** Gnaw: low damage long stun
** Retch: PBAOE zone of special blight that damages the living and heals the undead
* Skeletons
** Skeleton: +2 str/dex per talent level
** Sharp Bones: drop a pile of sharp bones on the floor, making a bleeding trap
** Bone Armour: temporary absorb shield
** Re-assemble: put bakc bones together to heal. At level 5 it allows to come back from the "dead" but only once

maybe a low chance to unlock them when you get killed by one? that would be interesting

Completting the staff quest will unlock Orcs & Trolls because you encounter them and know what they are looking for, so you can play on "their" side.
Chance on death ? humm could be fun

Yay! I look over at T4 again after a few days and I see dead stuff!
I haven't been playtesting since RF10, sorry guys that have been working hard I'm sure.

But the matter of it is, I've had my own game under development since early December or so. I probably won't actually download and play with T4 until a public release. Sorry, and thanks for all the hard work!

Sense you brought it up DG, are trolls and orcs completed to be added to the next beta?

Is there any downside to playing these races? Usually, that is how the game is balanced. For example a weakness to light damage.
How about killing the mummy lord for zombies?
Drowning in the water cave for skeletons?

Right now you cannot
get a portal mini-quest although that's due to a bug. Also
The Blood of Life doesn't work on undead.

I remember DG stating he will make undeads be born deep in a dungeon, so they will need to struggle to reach the surface.

The Blood of Life should not work on Undead anyway! Or at least IMHO...

I didn't mean they both were bugs!

Should be called the blood of unlife then

. Can the dead die anyway? Maybe the blood of reassembly then ^_^. Or you can carry around a magic summon stone that upon your death summons a few gnomes that reassemble you ^^. Then by doing so you could unlock the 'works like clockwork' achievement.

Well, undeads are assumed to be resilient (mostly evil) spirits which materialize inhabiting a cadaver; and they generally are just lesser spirits, since greater ones (e.g. shades, wights) don't need an empty body to materialize in this world (with some rare cases, like mummy lord or whatever, which would be powerful enough but like to embody a dead because it seems just too cool to them). However, they surely can be vanquished for good.
