Trollshaws: going up a Dlvl problem

When I go up a level in the Trollshaws I do not come out on the stairs. I am in stone, and the only way out is to use Teleport/Phase Door.

This is a major problem for non spell users.

Archers: My 2nd archer killed Bill with ease (he never hit me) and I then had the above problem.

Inventory problem with arrows...

I have the starter arrows (11.1 - 16.5, 5APR). I pick up some more arrows identify them (9.1 - 13.1, 5APR). I wield them without taking the others off first and I now have 258 arrows of 9.1 - 13.1, 5APR!

I manage to make some arrows (it is taking around 5 tries to get a set of arrows, and these are 8.5 - 11.9, 5APR. So I carefully take off the wielded set of arrows and I now have 433 arrows 8.5 - 11.9 Dam, 5APR...

So there is an inventory problem.

An elm sling?

I thought slings were made of leather not wood... Or are we talking about staff slings?

Talents Levelup:

Piercing Arrow (talent). tagerts should be targets

Also what would an archer do with Rush? I would not go anywhere near a target...

Rush is part of the standard fighting techniques, you dont have to learn it :)

Well true for slings true ... :)

There is no "bug" as is it forgets your type of arrows, each arrow is an object and stacks with others, each arrow fired will do its correct damage.
(But yes it should not allow they to stack so easily, just like ego potions)

As for the going up problem I really need a log & a savefile (and in your case tell me which revision of svn you are working with) as I seem to not be able to reproduce it.

I should give Bill the Rush talent maybe ?

bigfoot: thanks :) And yes please go on and try it I really can use a third tester :)

yeah, I still have the stair up problem too... no errors though. Also I still have the starting-out-a-new-character-after-dying-with-a-previous-new-character bug (where I dont get the normal starting equipment)...

archers are interesting... they miss alot... what talents add to their accuracy? weapon combat (it states melee atm though)? precise strikes? ammo isn't really a problem...

what I dont get is your love of long cooldowns... you realize there are ways of getting around them... even when food is implemented... it just drags the game on rather than help... I would make the cooldown a lot shorter (50 or so (100 at max) but make it less effective (1 to (4*talent level) if cooldown is 50) or something like that)

also my game seems to not recognize 't' or even 't' with the caps lock on (to target), I have to use shift 't'... weird.

No errors ? .... humm
Could you send me a savefile with you being on the upstairs so I can load it and just press < to see it ?
(I need the full savefile, taht is the directory taht contains both the .teag and .teal files)
The starting out thing, I'm not sure I remember it, could you describe it a tad more ?

Weapon combat adds to attack yes, I need to change the text.

Yes long cooldowns sucks I know I do not want to keep ammo creation as it is ayway. Maybe it'll be more like foraging on the wilderness map.

Yesy ou need shift+t because it recognises keybinds not the character itself. You can change the key in the keybind menu though.

The window opens, but nothing is shown. This is what appears in the file "stdout". Did I miss something? By the way, Windows 7 64.

EDIT: After a few more tries of opening, it works sometimes.

rather than use up a bunch of space showing whole images I will just link to them.

Basically if you start a new character (loading a saved one is ok) and die (I am not sure if you have to die [EDIT, you dont]) and start another new character you dont get equipment. *about the first image: I took it late, but that is the starting equipment.

and an interesting thing was I changed shift-t to 'f' and it worked for a while... but after a period where I didnt do anything it reverted back to shift-t, but the keymap was the same...

could you possibly change targetting (shift-t) and remove equipment (t) because you target things more than you take off stuff, and that is a whole 'nother keypress ;)

and could you remove the shoot talent and instead make a (f)ire ammo keymap? having a basic function with the talents that cost something is strange.

hmm... though ammo creation should be able to be done anywhere... make rounded pebbles the easiest to fine anywhere, iron shots should be rare... i mean you dont just find iron lying about ;)... hehehe, arrows you dont get till the cooldown is over and it doesnt go down unless you rest :P (hey you have to make your arrows)
yeah yeah yeah, we can forgo realism here for gameplay, just ignore the last paragraph :P
