RFT8

As usual :

Changes:
* fixed Roomer generator, should not generate unconnected levels anymore
* various spelling fixes as reported by my trusty alpha testers :)
* New subclasses/refined subclasses:
** Arcane Blade: a blend of mage and warrior
** Shadowblade for rogues: a blend of rogue and mages (try them)
** Necromancer for mages: quite unimplemented yet
* All classes should be created about equal, they start with the same number of talents
* A new artifact for you to find: the Ring of Ulmo
* Many new monsters thanks to Shoob
* Helms, Leather caps, Boots, Gloves
* Maze fleshed out with a real guardian and artifact drop (Helm of Hammerhand)
* Sandworm Lair! Alreay fleshed out with sandworms (in various forms) and their queen and her artifact (though I plan to improve it a tad soonish). The lair is ... innovative, try it out !
* Air capacity: normaly always 100/100 and not displayed. Getting stuck in a wall or somesuch will consume air and when you reach 0 it's the end.
* Engine can now handle spell reflect/absorbs/...
* Equilibrium system for Wild Gifts (only used for slime powers currently)

Yes you can get stuck in walls .. I'll let your find out how ;>

went up a stairs in the old forest and was in a patch of trees :P
note that between these two lines there is a message telling of an error.

nope... no errors... I did go to look and nothing :(

what happened was this

there was a monster chasing me (bad troll)... I have been abusing that bug (where no time elapses between levels and monsters dont follow you.)
I went up the stairs... appeared 2 squares north of it... I had 2 un-ided scrolls so I read them (one was bad, didnt help, the other was phase door)

so I lived. but it shouldnt have happened.

oh and are specific weapon talents supposed to be not shown (eg armor masteries, weapon masteries, etc...) or did that get overridden?

Rogue Comments

1) Character Creation Screen Description

Tremoundous should be spelt tremendous.

2) Talents Levelup screen

Dual Strike: 'Hit wit' should read 'Hit with'

Quick Recover: 'Your focus on the combat' should be 'Your combat focus'
Fast Metabolism: 'Your focus on the combat' should be 'Your combat focus'

Spell Shield: I find this statement may be interpreted in many ways...

1) resistant to some spells effects - Can you resist some spells effects but not others?

If so it should read: spell effects. Note the missing 's'

2) resistant to some spells effects - Can you resist some spells?

If so it should read: spells. No effects at all.

3) resistant to some spells effects - Does this affect your Spell Resistance as a whole?

If so consider: Rigorous training allows you to resist spells more easily.

Unending Frenzy: Should read - You revel in the death of your foes, regaining 0 stamina with each death.

Trap Disarm: Yuo should be You.

Additional Comments:

I started a Hobbit Rogue and got no health potions. Is this deliberate? Aha! 2nd time round I got potions. If it happens again I will check stdout and post.

No experience gained for disarming traps?

Still dying really fast.

Got a Level Generation crash (black screen and no response from keyboard and mouse). This time I got the stdout. Will email it if you like, also the save file...

Character Creation Screen

Whistand should be Withstand

Berserker Character Creation Screen

'concentrate of what' should read 'concentrate on what'

Fighter Screen Talents Levelup Screen

Technique / 2 Handed Weapons Mastery is repeated twice. Also the last zero in the Mastery multiplier 0.90 is a bit strange looking (looks like a backwards D)

Technique / Dual Wielding Mastery is repeated twice.

Riposte: Should read 'You have a X% Chance'

Repulsion: 'thurst' should read 'thrust'

Quick Recovery, Fast Metabolism, Spell Shield, Unending Frenzy all mentioned in the Rogue Comments.

No 2 Handed Weapons Mastery Talents available

All other comments already listed (under Rogue and Fighter)

The main problem is the lack of 2 handed weapons talents.

When I go up a stair in the Trollshaws I did not end up on a stair.

Reckon I found out about getting stuck in the stone!

Yeah fighting category is duplicated because there are 2 branches, I should extend their name but no space, I'll find a way :)

Oh and yes please do send me both the log and the savefile for your level generation crash.

For rogues did you try dual-weapon defence ? still weak ?
Maybe dual weapon defence should be the first of the line ?
