Wow! Tome really has evolved since my days.

I used to be an addict a few years starting from nearly ten years ago. It was the time of Tome2. Barely got to scratch version 3 when it was released before the family took me away from the game.

Just today I was fiddling with our new toy, living room Raspberry Pi computer. Had just installed Debian Wheezy on it and searched for compatible games. Some site listed Tome so I tried to install it. Wasn't available in the repository anymore so I googled for it. Stumbled upon a te4.net site and I gotta admit, I came in my pants just a little.

Now I'm just waiting for some free time to install the new version and get addicted again.

It's good to be back.

Ps. If there are any old timers you might remember me by name Faeryan or maybe Mayfair(y) on Tome.net forums. Can't remember anymore.

Bah.. These ARM processors are new to me. Of course the Linux 32-bit won't run on ARM processor. Downloading the source files as we speak and see if I can make it work.
The game runs nicely on my regular tabletop machine, but I want to play it on living room big screen TV system. :)

Not sure the RPi has enough power to run T4 though, without a real GPU it will *crawl*

That's not the first problem. Compiling with Raspberry is awful. Guess I'll just settle playing on my Linux computer.
I already started my halfling rogue who slaughtered stone troll Tom and a base of lv 25 bear being lv 6 herself. Sounds like a start of an epic journey.

Hmm, just thinking still. Think RPi can be overclocked to run at 1000MHz, and has 512 RAM. OpenGL was mentioned in Tome requirements; RPi handles that, though not without problems.
I really suck at compiling, but I'm gonna try. There are actually quite many Pi owners who are doing gaming and the games available for it are horrible at best.
Would be golden to have Tome available in the raspbian repository one day.

It's worth mentioning, perhaps, that I routinely play tome on a desktop pc with a single core processor, no graphics card (integrated intel graphics subprocessor) and only 512 meg of ram. I don't get the fancy shader effects, but the game runs, and well enough to play repeatedly.

Not sure how that would stack up to your RPi... But it can certainly run on severely underpowered computers.
