"Troubles of Middle Earth" or "Tales"...

Now, it suddenly dawned on me that I have never seen anything deciding the full title of our magnificent game in an undisputed manner.

Looking on the main page of the website, I see both contending titles in close proximity. Of course Darkgod may wish to overule any vote but I thought:

Why not do things democratically!!!! :D

So, Troubles or Tales???

Remember: Your vote counts.

For all readers: Just to be clear: This is NOT an official poll to decide which word (Tales or Troubles) it is. If darkgod wishes to take it as input for his own decision, that's up to him.

Having said that, I still think this is an interesting thread. :) To me, "Tales" sounds a little better, but I've always thought of it as "Troubles" and I'll probably continue to do so. (Maybe it's because of all the troubles I've had... then again, maybe our "tales" are our DiTL's!)

Why don't we stay in the current state? It's an interesting quirk to have two titles for the same game. On top of that, if only one title stays then people who like the other one will be unhappy. So my vote goes to: both.

well, considering one must do things in the game that are done in the books, I voted for tales.

Or Travels, or the inclusive T*.

T* of Middle Earth ... yeah, that's the ticket.

Interesting. I second that. Otherwise, Tales. But I really like the T* idea :-)

The illustious maintainer put in the feature that alternates both names in the title screen, and I doubt he'll settle that ambiguity, heh.

Well... things are in a dead heat now... 10 for Troubles... 10 for Tales... which shall it be?

I personally prefer Tales, but that's just me.

heh heh, when I first switched to TOME, I got the impression that the single player was 'tales' and the multiplayer was 'troubles.' It just dawned on me after reading Neil's comment why.[/quote]

I think it should be left as "T of Middle Earth" No, it's not an abbreviation. It's a stone troll. Then we just need to make a minor change in the story line. You see, really the game isn't about Morgoth at all, it's really about Tom, Bill and Bert's long long lost second counsin, Bob who got lost on his way to a very fine meal of roasted dwarves, and sadly, arrived the following day to find his relations all very stoned.

Just think of all the nifty new quests we could add! The quest to kill that silly wizard and hobbit who evilly conspired to deceive the poor trolls and turn them against one another just long enough for the sun to come up...the quest to hunt down and slay all the very naughty birds that used the poor trolls as perches and toilets...the quest to end all the cruel and slanderous propagands about trolls, who are really very friendly and affectionate creatures.

Yes, definitely "T of Middle Earth."
