The sequel to the Elves question it seems :) . I know where I'm casting my vote, and it isn't entirely gameplay based...

(Note: Many of the choices are only playable in Theme.)

No comments, but people are indeed voting.

Butbut...I love them all so! (Except for the regular humans, they're boring.)

*casts a vote for Druedain because they're cuddly*

I guess I'll vote after I get around to trying Theme. (I wish there was a way to see the poll without voting. The wiki is much better adapted to polling than the forum.)

There is. Just click the link saying "View Results" right below the "Submit Vote"-button.

Dagnabbit!!! I've never seen that link there! The yellow link (plus the small font) fades right into the tan background. Le sigh.... Thank you.

Edain refers only to the three houses of the Edain that came into Beleriand in the first age. Of the listed races only the Dunedain and the Druedain are counted as Edain. (the Druedain are associated with the people of Haleth) The Rohirrim are genetically similar to the Edain, but are not Edain. The people of Bor (not to be confused with Beor) might have been counted, but they were wiped out when they did not betray Maedhros at Nirnaeth Arnediad.

Although it may be worth noting (as a point of interest) that the most ancient form of the word - particularly the Quenya Atani - was a term used for the whole race of men.

Regular Humans are the best, the rest are so uppity about their status

Actually are there any "Regular" humans in LotR's? they all seem to come from somewhere.

Perhaps regular means they do they jobs in society that are not rare like garbage men or secretaries, and thus they are just regular, as opposed to being a knight or high priest.

"You are a regular human, your father was a storeman and your mother was a cleaner. You just quit your job at K-Mart to be an adventurer...."

Barliman Butterbur may be the only one named, but most of Gondor is what you'd call regular people: fishermen and farmers, and some of the soldiers marching into Minas Tirith were almost certainly conscripts. If you count slaves as "regular" there were loads of regular people in Harad and Nurn too.

I suppose someone ought to rework the background generator to better reflect canonical Tolkein.

Bill Ferny, Gate Harry, and the ruffians. The Dunlendings. Maybe Ioreth. Bard from The Hobbit and the other inhabitants of Laketown would also count but they aren't in LotR.

I like TOME, it is a cool variant with very nice ideas, but
Rohanknights in TOME are implemented in a very lame way, really, and aren´t even labeled as "experimental" or "munchkin", until something like Heng Riding is implemented. yea, i know Heng code is a mess, but that´s why i suggested "experimental" or "munchking", like the deathmolds and alchemists are now.
What´s bad is that they´re one of the more popular race, and i´m sure it affected a lot the voting in this post.
Cmon, at least 3 points of RK str bonus in TOME comes from the simbiontic horse that bites and kicks his enemies also (use your imagination to explain stats)...
IMHO the very existence of this race (and Thunderlords) and the fact that nobody cares about the way it is implemented and not labeled anything, but only numbers, is what destroys TOME for me, and makes me think what is in the head of ppl who play RKs...
