How many times have You won

There where some other pools about the same once. But the main problem with pools is, You can only voute once. So after a while thinks can change. For example the first "have you won TOME" pool i voted "NO"
But now thinks changed, Lord Dimwit released His "Strategy guide", TOME evolved a bit and, and, and.
So now the question is again
Have you won the game and how many times if so.
I personaly won the game 4 times, rather cheasy classes/races but it counts:

Petty Dwarf Sorc
Dark Elf Sorc
DeathMold Possessor
WoodElf Archer

lol I got my sixth win 20 minutes ago and when I look here I see this. what a coincidence :-)

I have beat the the game with variety of characters (mainly because variety is the main reason I love ToME):
a warrior - Troll Barbarian Unbeliever
2 loremasters - Thunderlord LostSoul Symbiant and Ent Possessor
a mage - Hobbit Hermit Mage
an archer - Wood Elf Ranger
and a priest - Dunadan Skeleton Dark-Priest
now, rogue class, here I come!
(and uh, I need to try the void)

Yeah, I think they count. Some could say, that its not the same game, not the same dificulty level or something. But lets be honest, You can make the game as hard as You wish (hermin yeek something) or moderatly (compared to above) easy.

Never won

Oh well, I'm trying with my new darkelf hermit sorcerer, maybe that will work. Damn thing only has 60-70hp at level 32 tho... Gotta be careful about traps and curses.

Just got win #8 about 15 minutes ago, but I've only killed Melkor once.

A mix of guys, somewhat weighted towards thaumaturgists, though some of them were special purpose characters and don't really count. Never won with a "normal" mage or sorceror, nor with a loremaster (although I've gotten 3 to 47th level or higher). Chronologically, they were:

- Wood Elf Anti-Magic Archer (strange character to win with for the first time, but it wasn't for lack of trying with other classes)

- Half Ogre Warper (used Thaumaturge spells for offense, and only time I've killed Melkor, my most powerful character ever)

- Yeek Bard (really a Thaumaturgist in disguise, died trying to kill Melkor)

- Hermit Yeek Bard (used barehand and music. that one was really hard)

- Hobbit Axemaster (possibly the most fun I've ever had with a character. I still look at his dump and wonder how on earth he was able to win with those crappy skills and that mediocre weapon.)

- High Elf Thaumaturgist (was trying to win with the lowest level character possible. Did it at level 38, but I think level 37 is possible)

- Hobbit Thaumaturgist (a lost soul, was trying to win in a real life single day (Neil did it first, though) and without entering a town (except to talk to Galadriel)

- Wood Elf Archer (a conventional archer. He's about to enter the void. We'll see how it goes)

I've never won, ever, in my 7 or so years of playing Angband, ZAngband, and lately, ToME. :(
My best character, ever, was a Draconian Chaos-Warrior in Zangband, who died of a corrupted save file near level 80. Best ToME character was a Dark-Elf Thaumaturgist who died from an unseen Time-breath, though mostly through my own stupidity.

Never won once... :( but I have a good Rohanknight zombie swordmaster going, I managed to beat 12 greater rotting Q-things as a princess quest, but let Goldolin burn...

Oh well keep on trying! :D

Never won yet, after a really, really long time (well over 10 years) but then again I was never really trying very hard, either, before about 5 years ago.

But I honestly think I may just have a contender this time, my first one to get to L50 in ToME. *Crosses fingers* She just now rolled over 15 Nycadaemons in Angband, on small levels. (Gee, thanks, FF.) Took me a few tries -- the small levels made it far worse, so I ran away screaming a number of times -- but I did it. *BEAMS* :D

Tabris, please watch your language. Thank you. :)

I see things are clearing up, If you beat the game once, then it is only a matter of time when you do it again. I think its because winning the game has not much tu do with luck, I mean real live luck. Yes, the RNG is allmighty and very, vary angry somedays. But the other days he can be very nice. To win TOME you have to face the bad moods of RNG several times. Winning the game has more to do with game experience. If you win it means you have the nessesary experience and can win another time. That is why there are many people with lots of wins (in example Lord Dimwit)

Well, haven't won yet, but I'm still hoping for a Hobbit Swordmaster. I got really far with one one time... destroyed the One Ring (found it off Glaurung)... but then I got killed somewhere in Angband because I forgot to check my HP...

Started another one, and I'm working on an Alchemist, but boy those guys are frustrating...
