ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Hey, I've been playing the old ToME version before ToME 4 came out, and I have a couple questions about it. In the birth options before you start your game, there used to be an option to turn on Zangband monsters, but for some reason it doesn't show up after version 2.2.7 It's not a huge deal since that version isn't too far behind, but I was wondering if I could turn them on in the latest version.

The other question is about the pressing * to see your list of items whenever you want to use something, like pressing "w" to wear something. I've noticed that in most variants the list auto expands without having to press *. Is there an option to auto expand the list in ToME?

Don't know if there's an auto expand option. But spacebar also expands as well as *, and its much more convenient to press.

Don't about the Zangband monsters. I did a quick search of changes.old (in my tome 2.3.5 install) and didn't find anything relevant. Could these now all be 'joke' monsters? (Doubt it.)

As for the auto-expand, you could use keymaps (@). For example, you can map 'w' to "w*". Remember to save your mappings to a file once your happy.

I added "auto-expand" (though not as an option) in an as-of-yet unreleased version of my ToME "fork":

It should be possible to apply the patch to a vanilla ToME 2.3.5 and recompile.
