[v1.0.0+] Notes to Self

#1 Post by Zizzo »

So I never actually got around to creating an official forum topic for this addon. Prob'ly should create one, if only for announcements like this. My Notes to Self addon, one of the founding members of ZOmnibus, provides a Character Notes dialog (bound to <Alt-Shift-N> by default), where you can enter notes for your character — the locations of vaults and chests that you want to go back to later, for instance, or which prodigies or locked categories you plan to take for the character. The notes will appear in a reminder popup each time you load the character.

In particular, the v7a release for 1.7 adds the following features:
  • After one time too many deleting a note when I was expecting to edit it (dunno how; maybe my mouse pointer happened to be positioned on "Delete note" when I hit <Enter>?), v7a adds a confirmation dialog to the "Delete note" action.
  • By request, we add a new game option "[ZOmnibus] | Show character notes at start" (enabled by default) to control whether the aforementioned notes-to-self popup will be shown when you load a character.
  • As with all my other addons, we attempt to make use of 1.7's new localization support.

Small new feature in v7a.2: as described in the FAQ, we support the engine's internal TString highlighting codes for adding colors or font fanciness to your notes to self. A mistyped code can lead to weird display, though, and they're not always easy to spot while you're typing them ("#{bold}#" vs. #[bold}#", for instance). We now attempt to detect malformed highlighting codes and highlight them in red instead of blue in the note entry form.
