[v1.0]Streamlined Early Game

Hey all,

I've written an addon that takes some of the early-game tedium out of spamming Nightmare/Insane/Madness runs.

Essentially, this addon presents a new dialog at Character Creation that does two things:

1) It allows you to pick your Brotherhood of Alchemists quest rewards from drop-down menus, and automatically grants you the quests as soon as your character spawns.

2) It allows you to configure your Rod of Recall to teleport you directly from zone to zone, according to a customizeable list of early-game dungeons/towns. For example, if you know you're going to want to do trollmire->kor'pul->derth->last hope->scintillating caves->maze->[....], you can just pick those zones in order at character creation and then repeatedly activate your Rod of Recall to teleport directly to the next area instead of needing to walk there on the world map.

When activating the rod, you'll teleport directly to the next zone on the list that hasn't been visited yet. Once all the zones have been visited, the rod goes back to its default functionality.

Any races/classes that have unique, required starting zones must actually visit those areas before being able to take advantage of this functionality - for example, Yeeks can't teleport off the island until they've completed their starting quest.

Settings are saved based on race/class combo, so you only have to set it up once per type of character and then you're good to go. It also persists when you choose "Restart with the same character" after dying.

I've tested this pretty extensively, and I don't think this mod affects game balance or difficulty in any way. It's purely meant as a convenience/quality-of-life thing. It also only supports the default Maj'Eyal campaign.

Please let me know if you find any bugs or have any other suggestions! This is my first add-on so it's possible that something isn't exactly right.

Looks good, I'll give it a try.

Awesome, let me know what you think. I'd be happy to make adjustments if other people find this useful - I mostly just made it for my own enjoyment. Hunting down the hermit alchemist every game was starting to drive me up the wall.

....Huh. Apparently there's something wrong with how I packaged my addon. It only appears to function when it's loaded as a directory, not as a *.teaa file. I'm working on a fix :(

Looks cool. Excited to try it when a fix is applied.

Okay! Everything should be in working order, now. I'd appreciate it if somebody would independently verify that everything works.

Seems to work ok, at least the starting dialogue, haven't tested the Rod functionality yet :)

I'll give it a try on my next character. I'm mostly interested in the alchemist quest option. I find it a bit tedious to pick up the alchemist quests so often since I die a lot.

Yeah, the alchemist quests were my primary motivation for making this mod. If you don't want to mess with the starting zone stuff, just don't touch the lower half of the dialogue - by default it simply contains each character's starting zones.

For the record, I just updated this mod to add an optional Rod of Recall dialog that allows you to change your route mid-game. "And now for a grave" is also auto-granted on new character creation.
