(Okay, admittedly I suck at graphics, so for now they look like Shaloren.)
This addon adds an Illim race, creatures from alternative timeline that managed to meet their universe's demises and rturned to planeswalking, bringing other realities closer to paradise.
Link: http://te4.org/games/addons/tome/illim http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=359776882
Stats:
Exp penalty: 15%
Life rating: 8
Stat line: +1 Dex, +1 Con, +1 Wil, +2 Cun
Talents:
  • Surge Self: Illim's soul strength far surpasses that of most Eyalites, and they may extend its power beyond body's border in a blast, removing ailments unnatural to them.
Invokes (5 + 1 for each TL beyond 5) soul shards, each instantly removing one effect of one of the certain kinds. Unused shards stay around user for(5-9) turns, being consumed on future detrimental effects.
Each time an effect is removed this way, user regenerates (100-~300, scales with character level) health over 5 turns, scaling with user's level; this effect is refreshed each time that happens
Affected effect types type are as follows:
At talent level 1: Stuns and Pins, as soul refuses to be restricted.
At talent level 2: Poisons and Diseases, as soul cleanses the blood.
At talent level 3: Silences and Disarms, as soul is free to to act and fight.
At talent level 4: Confusions and Blinds, as soul's senses are sharp and keen.
At talent level 5: Sleep and Stone, as soul is ever vigilant.
  • Otherworldly: Illim do not belong to this world, and as frail as their bodies may seem, they are not fully a subject to its hazards. Gain (11-20)% physical resistance. Additionally, when you take a hit in physical damage that takes more than 7% of your current Life, you gain (15-30)% physical resistance for (3-5) turns.
  • Fruits of Memory: Illim's memory of their home can extend their body's limits beyond ordinary.
Each time you are overhealed by a healing effect or regeneration, you store (60-100)% ((30-50)% for direct heals) of its value as a damage shield, lasting five turns.
It will boost any other damage shield you might have, but won't affect its duration.
This talent cannot extend the shield's strength beyond (300-1000)% of your current regeneration rate.
  • Fruits of Life: Illim appear peaceful, but there's a reason their race survive for so long. And if you pick a strife with Illim, I wouldn't place my bet on you. Grants 100% life leech chance and (8-16)% bonus lifesteal for (3-6) turns.

My thanks to StarKeep and his Faerie race addon for coding insights.

So... Their first ability is a cross between Providence and Timeless/that ability Aeryn gives you. That seems more than a little too powerful, and the rest of their racials are all pretty potent too.

Admittedly, I've not tried them out yet, this is just on viewing, but it's something to think about. In addition, could you post stats, XP modifiers, life rating, etc.?

In addition, your addon is not appearing in the Steam Workshop. Will I have to add it in manually?

The first talent is supposed to be balanced by a hefty cooldown, but then again, I might've wrecked it.
Editing the top post for additional data in a moment.
No idea why doesn't it appear in Steam workshop, I can see it!

Thank you for the added info.

I've got cookies to bake, so I don't have time to actually play right now anyway. Steam's probably just being a butt about it, and considering the connection problems Steam usually has...

You probably did everything fine, 0player, and Steam just has yet to realize it.

Right, got it working through the link you provided. I think I just need to restart my Steam client to make Illim show up.

I'll just say that, coming off a Dresden Files binge consisting of everything up to and including Skin Games, having the metarace be Outsiders makes me think less "hero" and more "eldritch abomination sent from outside the known universe to bring about complete and utter destruction". Which, while certainly in line with how I play, is kind of the exact goals of the end bosses.

It's a good effect, but maybe change the name to something that isn't with by a weird fetish?

Absolute Self, perhaps?

Also, I suggest putting Concussion in the list somewhere. It's an absolute shutdown effect, so countering it with a "more absolute" talent might be cool.

Monsters have physical penetration. Perhaps when you take 7% of your current life, you get some kind of temporary flat damage reduction instead?

Seems a bit overcomplicated, mainly because I can't figure out how it should interact with Aegis stuff.

Cool effect, but I wonder if it would be better to reward stacking the % chance by giving +50% chance for 6-12 turns. That way you're rewarded for making thematically correct choices (Vampiric Gift, Bloodcaller, etc.) rather than obsoleting them.

That's not a fetish, that's an area of the body. Obvisouly some people fetishize it, but I've yet to see complaints about Light of Foot or Prox's Lucky Foot just because some people have feet fetishes.

I don't see anything wrong with Otherworldy. Sure, monsters have physpen, but that doesn't make physresist useless. Just less useful. I've yet to see a build that said physres was useless, so a little extra after a big hit is far from a bad thing.

Fruits of Memory is a very cool idea, I think, it's just... Confusing. I think it should stay, just with a description that's clearer.

Agreed on Fruits of Life.

Both are refrences to Absolute Terror field, which is "the light of the soul".
The name coincidence is more of a laughing stock, though I'm aware of it.

It applies after Aegis, I made sure.

You're right.

Dunno about both Concussion and flat resistance.

Since resistance penetration is percentile (50% pen on a 50% resist means you deal 75% damage, not 100%) I don't think any changes are needed. Unless the monster has 100% penetration, it'll help keep you alive, and physical is one of the most Eyalish elements. Perhaps also give it nature resistance, since nature is of Eyal, but things like fire? Blight? I can easily see those hitting an otherworldly being at full effectiveness.

The fetish thing has nothing to do with the source of the AT Field, which was Neon Genesis Evangaleon. I have no idea where the fetish thing comes from, but it never featured in NGE at all. Nobody even dresses like that.

Anyway, I still recommend Absolute Self as a talent name.

How, though? What happens when you have Arcane Shield sustained?

Concussion is a new effect which is pretty rare, but can be very debilitating when you are under it. It's sort of a hybrid mental/physical effect (though the effect type is Physical). Not really necessary, but it seemed thematic.

Is that the Concussed effect from the Brawler's Ax Kick? The one that stops you from using any talents? It seems a bit out of place, absolute as it might be, since the rest of Illim is about the self. The only way I can see it applying is you can Concuss yourself in exchange for a massive heal/regen or something similar.

Yeah, but the name's derived from there.
Doctornull wrote:

it triggers after onHeal, so Arcane Shield will trigger first. If you overheal, it will try and add some more to the shield just created, but will not raise it above the cap.

I know what Concussion is, it's hella useful, but I'd rather not create any immovable object/unstoppable force scenarios.
It's a free talent with hefty regen slapped on.

Sure, and Deep Throat was originally the Watergate source, but you wouldn't use it as the name for a talent you expect to be taken seriously.

It doesn't really matter where the weird fetish name came from, using a weird fetish name for a talent name is going to make people think of the weird fetish rather than the origin. So I recommend not doing that.

(Even if there were no such weird fetish, the name would be poor because there's no Territory being defended. "Self" or "Body" is a much better description of what is affected by the effect.)

Ah, so very good stacking, interesting.

That really appeals to my inner munchkin so perhaps it's too strong.

Concussion doesn't block Instant talents, so it's not even an IO/UF scenario.

But yeah, no big deal ether way.

You know what, I'll just go with Unbreakable Will. Maybe. To be honest, I'm not being all seroius about that.
