This run was going really well, but I snatched defeat from the jaws of victory by playing carelessly in the EoR temporal rift zone. I was steamrolling most things, so I got overconfident when fighting a temporal archlich and got hit with a couple big damage spells in a row while I was doing my attack rotation. If I had been paying attention, I could have easily escaped and reset the fight. Lesson learned, no matter how tanky you are, you can still die and should be careful around tougher enemies. Also, playing high-level characters while tired is not a great idea.
This is the first undead character that I've gotten to a high level. I don't usually play undead races (for obvious reasons), but in Embers of Rage the Whitehoof is a little better off since you have early access to tinkers. The early game is a little rough since you have no access to direct heals until you find a Healing Salve recipe and get to Dominion Port, but with some careful play you can get over this early hump. I found the Whitehoof race to be pretty effective for a Demonologist, with a consistent 200% movement and some decent stat buffs, increased damage, and damage mitigation. Kiting around world map patrols has never been easier! The big downside to Whitehoof is it requires a huge generic investment to get the full benefits, but Demonologist doesn't have that much use for generics so it works out in this case. I plan to reroll this character and, with a little more patience, hopefully get my first Insane/RL win for EoR.
