Went a different route for this attempt at Cursed. Surge and Anti-Magic/Celestial are, IMO, the most obvious routes for a Cursed. I went for a Repel, Predator, and Elemental Harmony combination instead. For extra suboptimalness, I also went Shield Runes instead of Regeneration Infusions, and was predominantly 1-H Weapon/Shield with only the occasional use of 2-H Weapon. I basically never used the latter in a fight where the outcome would've been different with sword-and-board. I also didn't visit most optional dungeons (most notable one I did go to was Temporal Rift) and intentionally failed every escort quest.
[*] I suppose I should've tried using Iron Acorn instead of Cold Iron Acorn instead, but the 20% movement speed is super valuable in the face of not having Surge.
[*] 2-H is still perfectly viable on a Repel Cursed because of the synergy with I Can Carry the World! You can get like a 30+% chance to repel attacks, which is great. But Repel's definitely superior as an effect on a 1-H. It's also worth noting that I normally have trouble with the Barracks sections of the northern Pride (forgot its name), but they were a breeze as a sword-and-boarder.
[*] Anmalice (which is basically Soul Edge) is awesome.
[*] Elemental Harmony is blatantly worse than Anti-Magic or Celestial stuff, but still functional. I honestly expected it to be worse as it's basically a consolation tree for those who never managed to rescue Sun Paladins/Anorithil and want to hold on to being able to equip Arcane equipment.
[*] I would consider the most obvious prodigies to take on a non-mindstar Cursed to be I Can Carry the World! and Superpower, with the main thing of importance being when you take either. Normally I'd take Superpower first, but I Can Carry the World! synergizes well with Repel so it's perfectly worth it taking ICCtW! first.
[*] Never found a Psychoportation Torque, ever. This meant I had to hold on to a Teleportation Rune forever and had to rely on Rampage as my only "Movement Infusion." Worked out surprisingly well.
[*] Speaking of gear, I hope amuletofyendor and others aren't too bothered by all the Tier 3 gear (and the Tier 1 Prox's Halfling Foot...). Picking out appropriate gear is something I'm never good at.
SPOILERS AHEAD!
[*] Predator is pretty suboptimal in the grand scheme of things (especially with how little it helps for the two main postgame battles) just by how specific it is, unless you keep Ruined Dungeon's puzzle up to get the kills you need. However, it's perfectly usable for the main game. It is very good at helping you ruin Orcs' days, and it will actually wreck Elandar too, so long as you take the time to mark the Shalore town guards in Elvala and murder them. You'll get like 8 kills, which if you heavily invest in Predator means you get like a 20+% damage boost and whatever else Predator provides when you go to town on Elandar's ass.
[*] This is the only time I've ever had a harder time with Argoniel than I did with Elandar. The latter still went down laughably fast as a 1-H Cursed, but holy crap Argoniel's defenses are tough. I actually blew an Elixir of Invulnerability on her, but managed to do like 0 of anything productive. Time would've been better spent just going to the portals and closing them, which I eventually did do.
[*] Aeryn is shockingly good at solo-tanking Argoniel and all the enemies that were out, on that note. Thought it was going to be a THREE TANKS GO IN, ONE COMES OUT sort of deal but she really handles herself well when Elandar is dead.
[*] Completely forgot to spend the points you get at 50, as I went in at 49, killed Elandar, and just kept going. The imgur included are basically the stats/skills spread that I went into Final Peak with.

You could also save Rhaloren Camp for just before High Peak.LordKarasuman wrote:It is very good at helping you ruin Orcs' days, and it will actually wreck Elandar too, so long as you take the time to mark the Shalore town guards in Elvala and murder them. Are they actually Humanoid/Shalore? I was going to do the same thing for the Spellscar enemies but they ended up being Demon/Major.

The Demon/Major guys would actually turn back into Humanoids if you dispelled their Flames of Urh'rok sustain.LordKarasuman wrote:Are they actually Humanoid/Shalore? I was going to do the same thing for the Spellscar enemies but they ended up being Demon/Major.
But yeah, there ought to be very few NPCs in the Rhaloren camp who have that sustain.
