Going to rant/explain a bit this character's story.

I basically started this char just to try out the Battle Tactics tree, I didn't play too seriously at first, I even died during the Escape from Reknor.
But later on, I had some good luck with items, and realized Step Up + GWF were really fun so..it was pretty enjoyable.
Only zone which I think I hadn't done was the Mausoleum.

I had some problems with bugs - I even messed up Tannen's quest and DarkGod had to help me personally. Other than these technically problems, late game was fairly easy. The Vor pride was the hardest of the four, I got killed by a cryomancer while teleporting away, but the armoury and the 'room of death' wasn't actually too bad.

Also, in another pride(the wyrmic one?), I found the gem that gives HUGE penalties when carried(took me a bit too realize it...gems are autopick after all), but even bigger bonuses when imbued. For obvious reasons I wasn't carrying it.

I started to plan making a super-amulet through Limmir(probably would have gone with the artifact gem + the gems that give +10% to resists and damage), but I didn't have the jewelry tome by the end of the prides. So I went to the shadow crypt. Was a somewhat challenging fight, the boss dropped it, but when I left the area, there was a crash.
Last savefile was on level 1 of the area. I fought again...but I died, had to use the Ring of Death, and when I won the tome hadn't dropped. :(

After that...I was feeling a bit sad, so I just decided to go straight to the high peak to win or die trying.

And I got the tome on the floor of one of the early peak levels. A bit late to make that amulet(and I had no white voratun, anyway), but I was thinking it could be fun to try out on Anamatheon(as I had the eye) or even Celia.

Anyway, I keep fighting these peak stair guardians, some are somewhat challenging, many simply aren't.

Eventually...level 8. I see this unique heavy bone giant, I expect a harder than usual fight. We exchange blows for a bit, not much damage is done by it..until I get ~2400 arcane(probably disruption shield).

Was pretty shocking. I was hoping I'd be able to win the game a second time(first win was ages ago as a zerker). :(

Still a good run, had some luck, and learned stuff about playing things.

As for equipment: That's some sweet randart armor, isn't it? Should have picked a better name though :). Ordered it from the Merchant. Was thinking of getting a second randart later on, probably had enoguh gold to do so while still keeping a huge save bonus from Power is Money.
For those curious, the special gem I mentioned is the 'Goedalath Rock'.
Cloak's from a farportal, pickaxe is from the Master.

Also, managed to save all escorts save one, which is a pretty good record for me. Step Up helped for the higher level ones by giving me a lot of mobility.

Two things I'm curious about...

1) do you remember what your base regen and healmod were? You have some really nice buffs to both it seems :)

And 2) have we always been able to click on items in the character page like that?? :o I was just thinking of offering to help code that and oh look it's been done already :P

Perusing characters like this just makes me want to play so much more... I haven't even gotten past lvl 20 yet because I keep wanting to play different characters and see all the fun differences, but I know I'll be playing for a long time - at least until D3 release and likely beyond hehe (blizzard are good at making quality, replayable games but they don't inject the same level of fun, humor and character as in ToME) :D thanks for sharing dude!

Well my base healmod was of course 100%, not being a cursed, while by base regen was a bit more than 5, as I had Fast Metabolism at 5/5.

After healing mod...I usually walked around regenerating 15 life points per turn, which was pretty sweet.

Imagine if I had used that rock I mentioned for imbuing...among other bonuses, it has +50% heal mod 8).

Greater weapon focus on autocast combined with step up is fun indeed. I normally do not play fighters, but I tried this because of your post and I must say I absolutely love step up.

You were talking about a berzerker? Cause dwarf berzerker is best race/class combo. Mine is at lvl 12 ( I've been playing te4 for about 6 months but ToME 2 for way longer)
